WINE-CONVEYS IN A MODERN WAY
My name is Amalie, and I'm the one behind SipSomm — your go-to summerlier who not only shares understandable knowledge about wine on social media, I also put together carefully selected wines in wine boxes so you can make your own DIY wine tasting at home, and then I create personalized, different and anti-dry wine tastings for individuals and businesses without a single drop of wine snobbery. I want to share my professional expertise and love of wine in a way where everyone can participate; I call it 'wine at eye level'.
I am a trained sommelier from Nordic Sommerlier Academy and have since taken WSET Level 3 in London.
My interest in wine started all the way back from a child's feet, when I was very young I dipped my little finger in my father's red wine without much pleasure. Then I was introduced to various wineries when I went to Italy during the summer holidays.
I also grew up in restaurant, which my parents ran as an independent; the service profession is a great passion.
In the summer of 2021 work on a vineyard in Sicily and gained insight into everything from harvesting, winery and office. In the summer of 2023, I harvested a season at Champagne Deutz; it put sweat on my forehead and learning for life!
I have more experience with wine tastings through previous work in wine shops and have been Head Sommelier at one of Copenhagen's best restaurants, where wine tastings and wine distribution are daily.
Wine Experiences at Eye Level
Are you the type who is always lost when poking at the supermarket for wine and feeling like a wine imposter when slinging a wine of (to you) unknown origin around the glass to impress the father-in-law? Or do you actually know a little about the different grapes, but want to go a cru up into nerd-level?
I offer informal, educational and unsnobbish wine experiences where everyone can join — physically, online or as a DIY wine tasting box at home.
Here at SipSomm you can join no matter what type of wine you are! Get wine tips on Instagram, grab a delicious wine box on my webshop or book a wine tasting — online, in person, with a quiz, at a bachelor party, a night out with friends, at the Easter lunch, the company party...
